Warranty

At Diamonds on Baylis, we are committed to providing high-quality products. All items are inspected by a qualified jeweller and store manager before they are handed to you.

We guarantee everything we make, repair or sell for 1 year from the date of Delivery unless otherwise stated below. we guarantee stones will not fall out or become loose and the parts we made or repaired will not break in the area in which we worked

  • Coverage: Our warranty covers defects in quality or workmanship but does not include damage caused by mistreatment, misuse, or accidents.

  • Faulty Items: In the rare event you receive a faulty item, contact us via phone, email, or visit our store. We will assist with a refund, replacement, or voucher. Holding onto your receipt as proof of purchase is recommended, but we will strive to assist you even if it's unavailable.

Items not guaranteed:

  1. Glued items

  2. Enamelling

  3. Gold or Rhodium Plating

  4. Loss of Any claw set stone that has 3 or less claws

  5. Loss of any proud stone over 1/2 carat unless it is in a 6 claw setting

  6. loss of any claw set stone unless it has the following number of claws

    Emerald cut - 4 claws

    Ovals - 6 claws
    Marquis - 6 claws
    Pear Shape - 5 claws
    Heart - 5 claws
    Trillion- Must have “V” Claws

  7. claw set stones that have thin Claws, Missing claws, or stones that are set Crooked, Leaving a much shorter claw on on side of the stone then the other

  8. Bead setting where beads are badly worn or some beads are missing or stones are set crooked, leaving part or the girdle of the stone to be sticking up beyond the surface of the metal.

  9. Channel setting where either the channel is very thin, torn, not straight across the stones OR there is no support under the channels to hold them together . Example: No cross wires or support to keep the channel from pulling away leaving the stones to loosen or fall out

  10. Bezel setting where the bezel is too thin, torn or the stone is set crooked and not all the stone is held in by the bezel.

Resizing

Rings purchased from Diamonds on Baylis include one complementary resizing.

  • If the resize is incorrect due to the customers exact size not being known or available for sizing, a second complimentary resize is available.

  • Free resizing does not apply if the ring has already been resized upward more than twice or if changes are due to fluctuations in body size.

  • The ring size on a ring will not change, but because a customers finger can become larger or smaller because of diet, medication, the weather or weight change, we can only guarantee ring sizing for 30 days from date of delivery of the ring.

To ensure accuracy, we offer free in-store sizing and provide a business card with your size.

Please note: For online sales, postage costs for resizing are the customer’s responsibility. The resizing fee itself is covered.

Gems & Diamonds

  1. we do not guarantee that a diamond or gemstone once taken out of our store will not chip, break or fracture. no stone, including a diamond, can be guaranteed not to break, chip, scratch or fracture. we strongly suggest insuring your jewellery with your home owners policy. they will pay for damages

  2. we cannot be responsible for the further fracture or damage to stones or diamonds that are received from the customer that are already damaged, chipped, broken or have large inclusions or imperfections. We will inform the customer of there items before proceeding with the repair or installation work.

Returns

  • General Policy: Returns may require original packaging or a proof of purchase. Personalized or engraved items are not eligible for returns unless a manufacturing fault is identified.

  • Online Sales: Postage costs for returns are the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise specified.

  • Coverage: Our warranty covers defects in quality or workmanship but we will not accept returns for items damaged caused by mistreatment, misuse, or accidents.

  • Change of mind: We do not offer refunds for change of mind, however we will gladly offer store credit or exchange for another item with the difference being returned as store credit or excess being paid if more then original price of returned piece.

Payment

  • Payment is required upon collection or prior to shipping.

  • We offer layby for general purchases and for engagement and wedding rings. Extended layby terms may be available upon approval from the store manager or owner.

  • Accepted payment methods: EFTPOS, cash, and online banking. For bank transfers, proof of payment is required before the item leaves the store.

  • Workshop jobs valued at $500 or more require a 20% deposit before work begins.

Availability

Diamonds on Baylis strives to ensure product availability. However, in some cases:

  • Items may be out of stock or unavailable for immediate fulfillment.

  • We may need to order specific gemstones or diamonds on an approval basis, allowing you to review and approve them. Approval terms are generally limited to two weeks.

  • in some cases items are hand fabricated per order and these items require additional time to be allowed before shipping.

  • Information Collected: We may collect your name, address, email address, phone number, and payment details for the purpose of completing your purchase or workshop jobs.

  • Security Measures: Our website uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to protect your information during online transactions.

  • In-Store Security: For safety and transparency, our store is equipped with security cameras and an alarm system.
